I have gotten many a strange holiday gift from my parents in the past.
for instance, in 2003, my parents got me two pairs of snowshoes. two. today, this remains a mystery.
in 2004 my mother bought me a machine that shaves the little fuzzies off of sweaters. I’m not sure which salesman convinced my mother it was all the rage with the teens, but they did a damn fine selling job.
